The IRC bot will now announce breaking news in #barn. This includes anything that is visible on the front page of The Barn website. These updates are infrequent so this should not cause too much disruption.

Saturday 13th October
A bucket of code awaits.
The barn now has a code bucket (pastebin) for pasting code snippets.
Syntax highlighting, line numbers, and a couple of languages. The underlying system supports basically every language and script and format that you can think of, so request additions to the interface if you want something.
Click on the Bucket menu item to view it.
New File Sharing Features
The Barn now has file-sharing! You can upload files on the My Files page once you have logged in. Any files you upload will be available to members from the main files page.
Please note that the upload page is still having some trouble with files over a few megabytes in size, I hope to have this fixed fairly soon.

Tuesday 9th October
Member Avatars
The Barn now supports custom avatars. You can upload an avatar image from the "My Profile" page. Your avatar will soon be displayed on the member profile pages and next to news items related to you (and anywhere else where it seems appropriate).
This update required non-trival changes to the site's CSS files, so if the page layout looks a bit strange please clear your browser cache and refresh.

Sunday 7th October
Image Caching
The Barn URL catcher now caches image files locally (provided they are <= 10 megabytes in size). Clicking a link on the main links page will automatically direct you to the locally cached copy if available.
